This is the error:

Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://www.apple.com/" on this server.

If you goto developer.apple.com and try to get into the iOS area, they have their "we'll be back in a bit" message up.

I don't care too much about the Apple main site or the store being down. Can't order the phone until Friday anyway and we pretty much know the details.

But having the developer site down.... that's interesting. Could we be seeing an iOS5 and Xcode gold master drop?

I'm shocked apple.com is showing a default access denied message... The biggest tech company in the world I would have thought would manage to have something better than an access denied page... I assume there is but some clever tech head thought they'd change permissions on the server to stop people jumping around the hierarchy on the site but didn't realise that this includes blocking off access to the front page....
