Sprite Sheets

Hey, Where to you guys get your sprites from? I've been looking around for some sprite sheets to practice on, and i cant find any good ones. The ones on the example for corona SDKs are great, but i believe they were made by the developers of that.

Does anyone have a good program to make sprites?

Hey, @brian0405, if you use Flash to create your own animation, you can try Spriteloq. It is an excellent tool that exports SWFs to spritesheets. You can try it for free for 30 days. (BTW, I'm just a happy customer/user of Spriteloq.)

Hi,

Try a search for "spritesheets" and click the image option.

Also try:-

http://sdb.drshnaps.com/

Or make your own in a graphics program, Inkscape, Xara or Illustrator and use http://www.texturepacker.com/ to make the sprite sheets.

Cheers

Nick

I use gimp to create my images, then use an add on to gimp, that creates the sprite sheet for me... its all free... but it takes time if you want your sprite to look good (i am still a newbie at creating image assets, maybe for the pros it wouldn't take that long :P)

Thanks Guys for all the help! I'm going to try all of them and see which works the best for me!

I have been drawing sprites on my iPad with Spritesomething. Here's a link to some of the sprite sheets I created and a link to Spritesomething.

Spritesomething works pretty well. Not only can you draw pixel art. You can create sprite sheets, then use these to define animated sequences and tile maps. All of which you can preview in the program.

opengameart.org has some although they're under various CC so you want to carefully read the terms first.
