IT'S ALIVE! - The Monster Building Board Game

IT'S ALIVE! iOS Gameplay - Villagers

I'm pleased to announce that IT'S ALIVE! - Yehuda Berlinger's Monster-Building Game - has been released on the iOS App Store just in time for Halloween!

This official adaptation of the indie board/card game features the original illustrations by RH Aidley. Match your wits against four unique AI (computer) opponents. Two to five players can compete with pass and play on a single device. Save and resume single and multiplayer games at any time. Includes an illustrated in-game rules manual, and a horror-themed full orchestral musical score.

Play mad scientist, competing to be the first to collect all eight body parts and bring your monster to life! Each turn, buy a part, sell it for a meager profit, or offer it for auction. You might be lucky enough to get a coffin, which can be used in place of any body part. But after a while, you're sure to provoke a villager uprising!

Now available for special Halloween Launch Pricing of just 99 cents!

This app would not have been possible without Corona. This was my first commercial Corona project, and my first time programming with Lua. I'm a solo developer and had just 46 calendar days of development time! Of course, I had a good start with Yehuda Berlinger's game design, Reiver Games' theme, and RH Aidley's illustrations! Corona, and the Corona Simulator in particular, allowed me to prototype and iterate much more quickly than other development environments.

In addition to Corona itself, I also utilized X-Pressive's Particle Candy for some basic particle effects, as well as code from Jonathan Beebe's Beebe Games class, Adam Buchweitz's Crawl Space Library, and the infamous Coffee Demo. Thanks to all of them and to the helpful Corona forum community!
