Game Center HELP*HELP*HELP

Hello,

Can someone please clarify the Game Center integration here?

I have added the OpenFeint to my game and also configured the Game Center on itunes connect but when I test on device it says Game not recognized by Game Center.

Also, if I want to add a leaderbord button for Game Center how can I do this?

I searched all the forums and nothing, all I can find are other users having the same issues and NO clarifications on how the integration goes.

Thank you!

@office83,

If I'm not mistaken (Carlos posted that to twitter) official GameCenter support is coming soon!

Till then, you may assign the following code to a button to launch gamecenter app. That's the closest thing possible...

system.openURL( "gamecenter:" )

Regarding the integration, you'll need an xml file named OFGameCenter.plist which links openfeint to gamecenter...

Take a look at following link for details...

Is standalone Game Center really coming soon? I couldn't find any tweet about it. I'm very interested about this because I'm about to launch my game in the coming weeks and really wishing for Game Center support to appear. Should I dig into the current implementation (GC through OF) or wait for the real Game Center support?

Ansca staff: is there ETA on this?

here's the tweet

GC via OF is a workaround, not a solution.
but the implementation is quite easy

so I would add GC via OF to the game, release it, wait until ansca adds native GC support and then update your game....

Thanks for the fast reply! Sounds like a good plan.

Promising tweet by Carlos :)

The GC implementation through OF is very difficult.

I had lots of troubles with it so I decided to get rid of it until Ansca will release a stand-alone GC.

Hopefully will be out soon since Carlos twitter post dated OCt 4th.

uhm. "difficult" is relative.
i found it quite easy, actually. ;)
