Image Data Manipulation?

Are there any known ways to manipulate image data? Similar to AS3's BitmapData class?

I'd love to copy pixels by rectangular, circular, etc regions.

Send to remote server running php/gd or php/imagemagik ? :)
I dont think corona has wrappers for low level image manipulation

Thanks for the idea. I haven't found any pure Lua libraries for it either. Sending the bitmap data back & forth between the app & server wouldn't be practical in my scenario.
