BETA Testing: App builds and distribution to testers

Has anyone used https://testflightapp.com/ ???

The process of distributing your code to testing devices that have been setup remotely, there MUST be some documentation or process that has this defined - no? I can't believe you have to go through steps as are outlined here:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/40154/how-do-you-beta-test-an-iphone-app

Without having people download the Free SDK, and handing out your LUA code, what is the "proper" way to distribute your builds to authorized testers for QA purposes? It must involve the 100 Device allocation, it most likely involves distribution via some channel (App Store? iTunes?)

Any pointers on where this process is clearly defined and explained - would be appreciated... thanks so much!!

Hi,

Tesflight is just an easy (very easy and convenient) way to distribute your beta versions. But it won't get around the 100 devices limitation of your Apple licence.
And you will have to register the testers devices on your account.

That being done, TestFlight distribution runs like a breeze : upload a build, selecte testers, the system will send them an email, and they install the latest version. You can also check who as *actually* installed each version (testers tend to be lazy or humm busy) ...

Hope this helps.

Phil

Phil, yes, thanks for the feedback.

The process of providing builds to individual testers (or colleagues) to run tests is what I was specifically hoping for now. Distribution of the Application - secure distribution - and the registration of UDID devices in Provisioning Profile, that whole process.... I think I figured out how to do it, but the woman I was going to test it out with last night, she fell asleep before we could get it going. So we'll try it this morning when people are conscious and awake! ;-)
