just cannot get build enabled

please help, have been trying for hours now, a real nightmare.
I am ready to build iOS app but Corona will not let me. I created those profiles, but on my system the folders have non-english names.
any hints before I go crazy?

You mean they are using special characters?

If so, use an English name but specify the display name in build.settings. (Your app will show with the name you chose in iTunes Connect on the store and when installed on device will show the name specified in build.settings.)

Peach :)

no, no special characters, I just do not have this directory:

/User/JohnGlenn/Library/MobileDevice/Provisioning Profiles/

Library is called Bibliotek but it is outside User and User is called Brukere.

Build for device is grayed out and I just cannot enable it.

(I do have functioning ad hoc and distribution profiles in XCode, Corona ignores them)

Oh I'm sorry when you specified the non-english name I believed you meant non standard characters.

I don't have that folder either. (Running Lion.)

If you have your certificates installed correctly and have added your provisioning profiles to Xcode they should not be ignored provided you have selected them in the drop down list.

Can Corona see them in the drop down list you see when you choose to build?

Peach :)

Thanks for the reassurance about the file paths, that made me try once more getting certificates, it took 1.5 hours to get 1 for dist (the dev one still did not work) but now I could at least build, so I know it is not a Corona problem.
I guess nothing can stop anyone who managed to setup apple certificates from anything at all after finishing this process :)

No worries; I'm glad you did certificates again.

If you're interested we actually have a one-on-one service where a member of the team can walk you through all of this stuff, getting certificates sorted out, building for device, building for the store, etc. Link; http://www.anscamobile.com/corona/support/ (Bottom half of page, "Corona 102".)

(Supposing you do need help with the dev one.)

Peach :)

It is good you have this paid support option, even if I am not quite there that I could justify the costs!! After 4 more hours I had submitted the binary, curious about the apple review outcome but Corona makes the process of making apps really extremely easy, the Corona part actually worked right out of the box. I think it is important for new users to know that the critical part is getting the Apple side right before starting to troubleshoot non-existing installation issues :)

Sorry, I should have been clearer - Corona 102 is actually for the Apple side ;) A lot of people have headaches when dealing with App IDs, device IDs, certificates, provisioning, etc. as Apple makes that quite difficult.

Glad you were able to sort out the distribution certificate and provisioning profile to upload; Apple is on holiday as of today for a week so keep in mind review times will be a bit slower than normal.

Good luck!

Peach :)
