Game Center - GameON !

What is the minimum set of features you want from a version 1.0 implementation of GameCenter in Corona?

Carlos

PS: One thing we will not add in the first version is multi-player.
PSS: Don't ask when it will be out. I am collecting your feedback. Then I will tell you. The quicker you give me your MVF, the quicker we will get this out the door ;-)

So OpenFeint is dead in corona, or?

Mike. No. Not dead.... Any features?

In case people just "want want want" and not know what it is they want...

Basically, Game Center provides iOS users to invite other users to play a game they're currently enjoying (read: more sales for developers), do multiplayer games, track achievements, and compare scores on a leaderboard. One of the big side effects of having a Game Center-enabled iOS game is being listed or premiered on the App Store and with a nice GC icon on your product page.

First and foremost, besides being marked on the App Store, I would want the ability to invite other Game Center friends, for obvious reasons. Then the leaderboards and achievements, then multiplayer. But, basically in that order.

Is there anything else to Game Center besides those core features?

I'll echo BtT's suggestion ...

1. Invite other Game Center friends
2. Leaderboards
3. Achievements
4. Multiplayer

Jay

1. Invite other Game Center friends
2. Leaderboards
3. Achievements

At a minimum we need everything OpenFeint already provides, which is everything in GameCenter other than the feature you already said definitely isn't going to be in the first version.

1. Multiplayer
2. Leaderboards
3. Invite other Game Center friends
4. Achievements

1. Multiplayer
2. Leaderboards
3. Achievements
4. Invite other Game Center friends

1. Leaderboards!
2. Achievements!
3. Multiplayer!

Top 3 in that order!

I would go for:

Leaderboards and Achievements on the same prio level. Since both are used extensively.

Multiplayer in a second phase.

Alex

Leaderboards and Achievements.

1. Leaderboards
2. Achievements
3. Invite other Game Center friends

1. I want achievements most of all.
2. I would like leaderboards.
3. Multiplayer last (but I don't have any plans to implement multiplayer anytime soon).

Ok. Game on.

1st Drop

LeaderBoards
Achievements

2nd Drop

Invite Friends

3rd Drop

Multi Player

"In our business, there is no second place".

Game On

<--- must learn faster!

Heh, it looks like I picked a good week to start using Corona.

lol youtube vid ;-)

Does game center support peer to peer over bluetooth and/or wifi? I would like to be able to do a 'local' multiplayer game, not one via server.

good job

Any word on when Game Center support will be added?

Multiplayer is critical to our games and one of the very few things holding us back from buying a Corona subscription.

If not Game Center in Corona then the ability to incorporate Game Center on our own would be acceptable too.

Keep up the great work!

No multiplayer support.

ETA End of Month.

C.

No multiplayer support ever? Or just not this month?

not for the first release. but we have not made any plans even for the next drop... maybe two drops after.

c

Sorry to be obtuse and I realize we're into the realm of "maybe" here, but does that mean there might be multiplayer support in ~3 months? (Assuming a "drop" happens roughly once a month...)

Thanks for the info. We really want to go with Corona for a big lineup of upcoming games (mostly official adaptations of board games, BTW) but we need to have some idea of where multiplayer fits in your roadmap before we can make a decision.

We'll definitely look at Corona for other cross-platform games in the meantime. Great stuff!

I want online multiplayer supported as soon as possible! :P

me too!

carlos,
how far is "maybe two drops after" ?

I will add my voice to the multiplayer ASAP crowd.

I'll add my voice as well - would love to see multiplayer capability!

Also, I'm not sure if this question has been answered in a different thread; Is there any way to implement Game Center manually after exporting the code from Corona?

Bottom line is, our game absolutely requires multiplayer, and we can't go forward with Corona if there's no work-around...

I am waiting for at least OpenFeint support for Android =(

add 1 on multiplayer capability!!

This is really cool.
